Pennacchio ad calls Mastrangelo a bully and intimidator

A new ad for State Sen. Joseph Pennacchio bashed his Republican primary opponent in the 26th district, Morris County Commissioner Tom Mastrangelo, for a history of bullying, harassing, and intimidating political opponents

The ad, “Watch out for Mastrangelo,” uses a thuggish-looking photo of Mastrangelo and ominous music with a voiceover that addresses an ethics complaint filed against him by colleagues on the Board of Commissioners.

Script: “Be on the lookout for Commissioner Tom Mastrangelo.  When Mastrangelo doesn’t get his way, he bullies, harasses, and intimidates his opponents.  Mastrangelo’s own staff was afraid of getting physically assaulted by him if they had identified themselves to the police.  Mastrangelo’s repulsive behavior never stops.  In 2021, Mastrangelo was unanimously referred for an ethics complaint by his colleagues on the commissioner board for his actions.  Tom Mastrangelo bullied his way into office.  On June 6th, don’t let him do it again.”

A Pennacchio-backed website, therealmastrangelo.com, includes an audio recording of a voicemail Mastrangelo left for former Parsippany GOP Municipal Chairman Louis Valori that includes threats made by the longtime county commissioner.
