Four Republican candidates for State Assembly in the 24th district will face off in a debate on Thursday, April 27, at 8:30 PM, sponsored by the New Jersey Globe and Save Jersey.

The candidates – Lafayette Board of Education President Josh Aikens, Sussex County Commissioner Dawn Fantasia, Chester Mayor Mike Inganamort, and Warren County Commissioner Jason Sarnoski– are seeking two open Assembly seats.

One of the incumbents, Parker Space (R-Wantage), is running for the State Senate; the other, Hal Wirths (R-Wantage, is not seeking re-election.

David Wildstein, the editor of the New Jersey Globe, will moderate the debate, along with Matt Rooney, the editor of Save Jersey, a conservative news website.

It will be streamed live on the New Jersey Globe, Save Jersey, and on social media channels:

The 24th district has more registered Republicans than any other district in the state, with 31,172 more Republicans than Democrats, and is one of two districts in the state where Republicans outnumber unaffiliated voters.  The district hasn’t elected a Democrat to the New Jersey Legislature since 1973 when Robert Shelton (D-Ogdensburg) unseated Republican Assemblyman Walter Keough-Dwyer (R-Vernon) in the anti-Republican Watergate wave.

Another candidate, attorney Rob Kovic, was not invited to participate in the debate.
