Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin has promoted his legislative director, Daniel Harris, to serve as deputy executive director of the Assembly Majority Office and has elevated Jillian Lynch from director of administration to the same title.
“I’ve had the opportunity to work with Dan on many legislative achievements over the past several years, including the Economic Recovery Act of 2020 and the minimum wage legislation. He brings a wealth of knowledge of public policy and issues that matter to the people of New Jersey,” Coughlin said in a statement on Thursday. “Jillian has shown herself to be a trusted leader during her tenure in the AMO. She has been instrumental in our transition to remote voting sessions and virtual committee meetings since the pandemic began and so much more. Her work ethnic and professionalism are unmatched.”
Coughlin has also promoted two policy analysts on his staff.
Kristen Powell will serve as associate general counsel, and Catherine Tung will be a senior policy analyst.
“Kristen has worked tirelessly to move forward comprehensive legislation to make government more efficient and strengthen worker protections,” the speaker said. “Catherine has served as aide to the Commerce and Economic Development and Science, Innovation and Technology Committees. It is because of her efforts that we have been able to advance robust policy to combat climate change and help small businesses in these challenging times.”
Stephan Lally, who has served as an aide to the Speaker, was named senior staff associate.
“Stephan has been a trusted ally at my side for over a year,” Coughlin said. “His passion for public policy will serve him well in his new role. I look forward to seeing all he accomplishes in the future.”
