Booker, potential statewide candidates out campaigning in advance of Tuesday’s election

U.S. Senator Cory Booker crisscrossed New Jersey this weekend, stumping for Democrats in the 3rd, 4th, 11th, 16th, and 38th districts and in appearances in Middlesex, Passaic, Mercer and Union counties.

Gov. Phil Murphy and First Lady Tammy Murphy attended Bergen County Democratic Chairman Paul Juliano’s annual GOTV breakfast in Fairview this weekend,

Tammy Murphy, who is expected to seek the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate next year, also attended a GOTV event in Morris County.

Rep. Andy Kim (D-Moorestown), an announced candidate for the Democratic U.S. Senate nomination, was in Freehold, Hamilton, Willingboro, and Morristown campaigning with Democrats.

Two Democratic House members mulling 2025 gubernatorial runs spent their weekend in support of Democratic candidates.

Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff) was in the city of Passaic for a GOTV rally to boost incumbent legislators in the 36th district: State Sen. Paul Sarlo (D-Wood-Ridge) and Assemblymen Gary Schaer (D-Passaic), and Clinton Calabrese (D-Cliffside Park)  He attended canvassing event in Neptune City and Westfield, Juliano’s event in Fairview, and a Bergen GOTV labor walk, an event in Princeton with State Sen. Andrew Zwicker (D-South Brunswick), and a Garden State Equality and New Jersey Action campaign event in Asbury Park.  He was also at the 38th district rally with Booker.

Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-Montclair) also attended Juliano’s breakfast, GOTV launches in Rockaway, Raritan, and Montclair, and a pre-election breakfast in Livingston.

Radio personality Bill Spadea, a likely candidate for the GOP gubernatorial nomination, was in Morris, a stop for local candidates in Colts Neck in Monmouth, Cherry Hill in Camden, and a group of Young Republicans who came from different parts of New Jersey to canvass for 14th district legislative candidates in Hamilton.

Jack Ciattarelli,  a former assemblyman who came within three points of ousting Gov. Phil Murphy in 2021, spent part of his weekend in Morris and Bergen and with four stops in his home county, Somerset, boosting GOP candidates in the 16th district and local candidates in Bridgewater, Franklin, and Manville.  Ciattarelli is planning to run for governor again in 2025.

Absent from the pre-election campaign trail was the state’s senior U.S. Senator, Bob Menendez.  His indictment on charges of bribery, conspiracy, and acting as a representative of a foreign government led Democrats to leave him out of their plans.
