Padin nominated for federal judgeship

By David Wildstein, November 03 2021 11:42 am

President Joe Biden today nominated Evelyn Padin, the former president of the New jersey State Bar Association, to serve as a U.S. District Court Judge in New Jersey.

If Padin and Georgette Castner, who was also nominated today by Biden, are confirmed by the Senate, all six vacancies on the federal bench will have been filled.

All six of Biden’s picks have been women or people of color, fulfilling a campaign pledge to appoint a more diverse judiciary.

Padin, a former social worker, runs her own family law and civil litigation practice. She is a trustee of the Hispanic Bar Association.
