Statements issued in memory of Yolanda Egan, the wife of Assemblyman Joseph Egan (D-New Brunswick), who died on Sunday:

“Yolanda Egan was as committed to doing good in her community as she was to her husband of nearly 60 years, Assemblyman Joe Egan, and her children and grandchildren. Devoutly faithful, she was a loving wife and mom, and an active leader at St. Peter’s Medical Center in New Brunswick, serving not just on the Board of Trustees, but volunteering in the gift shop to remain close to the families whose loved ones were seeking care. She wasn’t just Joe’s partner in life, but also in politics, and in doing good things for New Brunswick and our state. Theirs was a true love story that lasted six decades. Tammy and I send our deepest condolences to Joe and their four children, Joseph Jr, Kevin, Tim and Patty, their extended family, and to everyone Yolanda touched in life.”

“I want to extend my sincere condolences to Assemblyman Joe Egan, the extended Egan family and the countless friends, colleagues and the New Brunswick-area community on the passing of Yolanda Egan. We all share in their loss. Yolanda was a selfless and generous-spirited woman who gave so much to her family and to organizations that provided care and service to those in need. She will be remembered with fondness and appreciation by everyone whose lives she touched.”

“My wife Tish and I send our heartfelt condolences to Assemblyman Joe Egan and his family. Yolanda Egan was a wonderful woman, a loving wife and mother, and dear friend.  We are saddened by her loss after her courageous battle, but are comforted that her memory will forever remain in our hearts. Our thoughts are with Joe and his family at this time.”
