Rice Tribute: Sean Spiller

Montclair Mayor Sean Spiller, the president of the New Jersey Education Association, released the following statement on the death of former State Sen. Ronald Rice:

“I am saddened to learn that Senator Ron Rice has passed.  I had the pleasure of working with Senator Rice over the years on a variety of issues, including protecting and strengthening our public schools.  He was the same close-up as he was in the public eye–a principled leader,  trailblazer, and tireless advocate who fought for what he believed in. Senator Rice never hesitated to speak up in service of his constituents and the greater good.  He leaves behind an enduring legacy of public service. Senator Rice’s loss will be deeply felt across the state.”
