Rice Tribute: Brendan Gill

Essex County Commissioner Brendan Gill released the following statement on the death of former State Sen. Ronald Rice:

“It is with profound sadness that I received the news that NJ has lost one of its great leaders and public servants, Sen. Ronald Rice. Sen. Rice served his country and his community as a US Marine, a police officer, a legislator and a fierce and tireless advocate for social justice and racial equality. To me, he was a friend, a colleague, and a model of an extraordinary public servant. My deepest condolences to his family, whom I join in mourning this terrible loss.”
