Mike Hennessy, former Campaigns & Elections publisher, dies at 61

Michael J. Hennessy, Sr., the owner of a New Jersey-based medical media company and the former publisher of Campaigns & Elections, a popular magazine for political insiders, died on November 21.  He was 61.

Hennessy served on the Board of Trustees of Rider University and set up the Hennessy Fund for the Rebovich Institute for New Jersey Politics.

After graduating from Rider in 1982, Hennessey took a sales job with Med Publishing and worked his way up to chief operating officer.  He was chairman and CEP of MJH Life Sciences, which became the largest privately-held medical publishing company in North America.

Hennessy was predeceased by his wife, Patti.  He is survived by his four children and ten grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Monday from 4-8 PM at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home in Monroe Township.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church in Hightstown.  In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be sent to the Mike and Patti Hennessy Foundation, P.O. Box 692 Cranbury, NJ 08512.
