Marina Eudelia Hoepelman Del Monte, mother of assemblywoman, dies at 77

Marina Eudelia Hoepelman Del Monte, the mother of Assemblywoman Rosy Bagolie (D-Livingston), died on Monday.  She was 77.

“My mother passed away the way she wanted, quietly at home. Suddenly and unexpectedly, the way she always said she wanted, no hospitals, and without putting her daughters through watching her suffer,” Bagolie said in a social media post.  “That was who she was.

After emigrating from the Dominican Republic with her daughter and other family members, she worked as a secretary at Glazer & Kamel, a law firm in Elizabeth.

In addition to Bagolie, she is survived by three other daughters, Marina Diaz, Elizabeth Linares, and Odette Hernandez, four sons-in-law, her grandchildren,  Louis & Kevin Medina, Natalie & Gabriel Linares, Justin & Michael Jiménez, Daniel Hernández, Frank Bagolie, Jacob Bagolie and Aaron Bagolie, and her great-grandchildren, Emma, Mariam, Zöe, Prophet, Juelz, Mazi, Zhavaia and Ismael.  She had been married first to Epifanio Bello Díaz, then to Luis Nadal Pou.

The extended Hoepelman family will receive guests on April 30 from 10:15 AM to 10:45 AM at the Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel.   A funeral service will follow at 11 AM and will be available on a livestream.  A shiva will be observed following the internment at B’nai Jeshurun Cemetery in Elizabeth.
