John Koster, who was a reporter for the Bergen Record from 1969 to 1980 and then the co-founder and editor of the Northwest News, a small local newspaper in Bergen County, died on December 8 of complications from post-Covid pneumonia.  He was 78 and a U.S. Army veteran.

Beth Pollack, a former aide to Gov. Thomas H. Kean in the 1980s, died on December 10.  She was 64.

William F. Smith, who served stints as a Lyndhurst Town Commissioner from 1973 to 1977 and again from 2001  to 2005,  died on December 9.  He was 95.   He was a former Sergeant-at-Arms in the New Jersey State Legislature and also served on the Lyndhurst school board and planning board.

Arlene Flanagan, a former aide to Assemblywoman Joan Quigley, died on December 8.  She was 74.

John E. Bennett, a former Neptune Township administrator and municipal clerk who served on the New Jersey County and Municipal Government Study Commission, died on December 11.  He was 94.

Robert Mulvihill, a former Republican county committeeman in Jefferson, died on December 7.  He was 62.

Kenneth Lockerby, a Philadelphia Daily News editor from 1979 to 2012, died on October 29.  He was 83.

Michael Roellke, a former Little Egg Harbor school board member and U.S. Navy veteran, died on December 10.  He was 79.

William Kramer, an original member of the Cinnaminson Board of Fire Commissioners, died on December 13.  He was 90.
