Ginnie McKenney, who served as a Union County freeholder after becoming the first woman to serve as mayor of Roselle Park, died on January 23. She was 96. She was elected to the Roselle Park Borough Council in 1974 and as mayor in 1978. She was elected to the Union County Board of Freeholders in 1980 and served one term.
Nancy Vas Korlis, a former High Bridge school board member, died on January 21. She was 79.
Irene Sanocki. who had worked as a deputy court administrator in Plainfield in the 1970s, died on January 21. She was 69.
Shelle Jefferson, who worked at the Atlantic County Board of Taxation when Horace Bryant was a commissioner and then spent 31 years as an inspector for the Casino Control Commission, died on January 22. She was 77.
Eileen Stevens, a member of the Spring Lake Democratic Club, died on January 23. She was 92.
