Scott Spoviero, who served as the Lodi Municipal Court judge and an assistant Bergen County prosecutor, died on December 28.  He was 63.  Spoviero held municipal posts in Hasbrouck Heights, New Milford, and Saddle Brook.

Tim Helck, the father-in-law of POLITICO reporter Matt Friedman, died on December 29 of complications related to Covid.

Patrick Tully, a former Amalgamated Transit Union Local 810 and International Vice President of the Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU), died on December 25.  He was 86.  A former New Jersey Transit bus driver, Tully served on the Executive Board of the New Jersey AFL-CIO.

Margaret Nicolais, a former Chatham Borough councilwoman and school board member who spent 25 years in local politics, died on December 29.  She was 94.

Antonio Garay, a three-term school board member in Rahway, died on January 1.  He was 74.

Bernard Miller, a former Rahway Board of Education member and Parking Authority Chairman, died on December 230.  He was 90.

Paul Weeks, a Manasquan Republican Club member, died on December 31.  He was 82.

Everett Felder, a former WNBC-TV and Channel 47 reporter, died on December 26.  He was 89.

Fred Singer, who spent 13 years on the Bloomfield Planning Board, died on January 2.  He was 94.
