Bernard Kannen, a former New Jersey Superior Court Judge, died on June 6.  He was 91.  Kannen had served as the Berkeley Municipal Court Judge and was nominated to the Superior Court by Gov. Tom Kean in 1987.

Jo Ann Badal, who spent 33 years as an administrative secretary in the Middlesex County Treasurer’s office, died on June 15.  She was 80. Nadal served on the board of the Middlesex County College Foundation and the Perth Amboy General Hospital Board of Governors.

Barbara Griffin, a civil rights activist who served on the Bergen County Fair Housing Council in the 1960s, died on June 15 after a seven-year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.  She was 82.

Eugene Frederick, who spent 34 years working in the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, died on June 15. He was 95.  Frederick served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.

George Field, a former member of the Hamilton Patriotic Committee, died on March 14.  He was 72. Field was a Vietnam War veteran.
