Tiran Billups, the president of Amalgamated Transit Local 819, the largest New Jersey local, has died of complications related to COVID-19.  He was 65.  Governor Phil Murphy: “You’re a giant and most importantly, for your commitment to your extraordinary family. God bless you, buddy. God bless you and God rest your soul.”

Ellen Egan, the Gibbsboro Borough Clerk for 23 years, died on June 4.  She was 91.   Egan’s tenure lasted through seven mayors.

David Friedman, a prominent Central Jersey land use attorney, died on June 6 after a long battle with heart disease.  He was 87.  Friedman formed a law firm with Sido L. Ridolfi, a former New Jersey Senate President who represented Mercer County in the Senate from 1954 to 1972.

Lillian Dooley, who served as a Middlesex Borough Democratic county committeewoman, died on June 7. She was 77.

Alleyne O’Neill, a former Neptune Democratic Club member, died on May 31. She as 76.

Patricia Trinkle, a longtime Clifton Democratic county committeewoman, died on June 6.  She as 81.
