John Fedele, a former Ringwood councilman, died on April 17. He was 87. A U.S. Army medic, Fedele was a high school football coach for nearly 30 years and coached the state championship Hasbrouck Heights High School football team in 1962 and was named New Jersey Football Coach of the Year. He was elected to the Ringwood Council in 1973 and served two terms. Fedele also served as Ringwood Democratic Municipal Chairman.
David Lapinski, a former Old Bridge fire commissioner, died on April 7. He was 76.
Barbara Roger, a retired secretary for the Bergen County Planning Board, died on April 19. She was 70.
Elizabeth Brown, a former member of the North Plainfield Republican Club, died on April 13. She was 82.
Artie Schnarr, a former Elizabeth firefighter, died on April 19. He was the uncle of Union County Freeholder Alexander Mirabella.
Dulce Maria Gonzalez, an Essex County employee, has died of COVID-19. “Her warm smile and kind words while making sure our office spaces were spotless will be missed,” said Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo.
