In Memoriam

Rick DeNoia, a former Little Silver councilman and a player in Monmouth County Republican politics, died on March 22.  He was 66.

Joseph Frisina, a former deputy mayor of Newark under Kenneth Gibson, passed away on March 21.  He was 83.  Frisina was also the director of the Newark Tax Assessors office.

Thomas Quackenbush, a former Barrington Democratic Municipal Chairman, died on March 22.  He was 66.

Paul Grau, a former Mayor of Wantage, passed away on March 22.  He was 81.  Grau served as the secretary of the Sussex-Wantage Board of Education for 26 years and is a former Sussex Fire Department chief.  He was elected to the Wantage Township Committee in 1996 and served two terms, including two stints as mayor.

Harvey Morrell, the mayor of Howell Township from 1993 to 1997, died on March 21.  He was 87.  Morrell is a former Matawan Police Chief and was the public safety director for Colts Neck and Allentown.
