Ex-Red Murphy ally dies

Ted Ferguson, a former Totowa councilman, passed away on February 5.  He was 76.  Ferguson served seven years on the council before resigning in late 1987 to move to Florida.  An ally of Passaic County Republican Chairman Anthony “Red” Murphy, he was appointed councilman in 1981 to replace Thomas Carroll.

John Beninati, a former secretary and treasurer of the Union County Young Republicans, died on February 10.  He was 91.
