Ex-gubernatorial aide dies

Deirdre Walsh Fedkenheuer, a respected retired state employee who worked for three governors, passed away on November 19.  She was 65.

Fedkenheuer worked in the constituent relations office as a member of the advance staff for  Governors Jim Florio, Christine Todd Whitman and James E. McGreevey. She was the longtime communications director for the New Jersey Department of Corrections.

She is survived by her husband, Rick, three children, two grandchildren, and two sisters, including former Point Pleasant Beach councilwoman Monica Walsh Petracco.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday from 2-6 PM at the Colonial Funeral Home in Brick.  A funeral service will be held at Saturday at 5:30 PM.
