Bob Burns, former Egg Harbor mayor, dies

Bob Burns, the last Democrat to serve as mayor of Egg Harbor Township, passed away on Monday evening.  He was 70.

He served on the Township Council from 1991 to 1996 and was mayor in 1994.

Burns may have been better known for his career in broadcasting.

Burns joined WOND-AM 1400 in 1997 as the co-host of a “Your Neighborhood Garage,” a weekend automotive show.  SInce 2011, he has hosted “Bob Burns in Your Afternoon,” a weekday talk show that included a local political component.
