Alfonso Caso, former Guttenberg councilman, dies

Former Guttenberg Councilman Al Caso, who was elected in 2008 and served until his retirement last year, died on July 25.  He was 75.   His passing was first reported by the Hudson County View.

“We lost a amazing man from Guttenberg. Councilman Al Caso was an incredible person,” Mayor Wayne Zitt said in a Facebook post.  “Al was always looking to move Guttenberg forward.

Caso was a U.S. Air Force veteran.  He had been battling some health issues in recent years.

Memorial services will be held on August 3 from 3-7 PM at the Barquin Funeral Home in Guttenberg.
