Where the gubernatorial candidates are this weekend

On the penultimate weekend of the 2021 gubernatorial election, Gov. Phil Murphy is holding “Get Out the Early Vote” rallies with Democratic Party leaders, while Republican Jack Ciattarelli is criss-crossing the state with GOTV rallies and diner tours.

Former President Barack Obama will join Murphy at a rally in Newark on Saturday afternoon. Murphy starts his day with a rally in Long Branch with Rep. Frank Pallone and State Sen. Vin Gopal and will cast his early vote there afterwards.  Joining Murphy in  Kal Penn, who grew up in Montclair and Marlboro, will take part in a rally in Edison with Pallone, Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin, Democratic State Chairman LeRoy Jones, Middlesex County Democratic Chairman Kevin McCabe and Pallone.

Ciattarelli will spend Saturday seeking votes in seven campaign stops: Toms River, Colts Neck, Brick, Old Bridge, Monroe, East Brunswick and South Plainfield. 

On Sunday, Ciattarelli will be in Cranford, Denville and Whippany.

House Majority Whip James Clyburn will join Murphy on Sundays for rallies in Trenton and Jersey City.  Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman will be at their side in Trenton, while Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop, Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise, and Reps. Donald Payne and Albio Sires will join him at the Hudson County event.
