Bill Spadea has raised $1.1 million for his campaign to capture the Republican nomination for governor of New Jersey after raising $279,000 during the final three months of last year.

Spadea, the NJ 101.5 morning radio host, has $592,000 cash-on-hand.

He has qualified for around $1.83 million in matching funds; that would bring is total number to a little more than $2.9 million.

By accepting matching funds, Spadea has agreed to an $8.7 million spending cap in the GOP primary.    He needs to raise an additional $1.84 million, roughly, to qualify for the full match.

Spadea still needs to raise another $2.1 million to get to the $8.7 million cap.
