The Middlesex County Prosecutor has decided not to pursue a case against former Schools Development Authority chief of staff Al Alvarez, NJ Advanced Media reported Wednesday.
The decision mirrors one made months ago by the Hudson County prosecutor, which investigated allegations of sexual assault made against Alvarez by state Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency chief of staff Katie Brennan.
Brennan claims Alvarez sexually assaulted her in April 2017, when they were both involved in Gov. Phil Murphy’s gubernatorial campaign.
At the time, Brennan was a campaign volunteer, while Alvarez was in charge of Muslim and Latino outreach for the same.
Alvarez denies the allegations.
