A nonprofit connected to Gov. Phil Murphy released a new Internet ad today focused on New Jersey’s economy and quality of life in the state.
The Stronger Fairer Forward ad, “Rankings,” touts Murphy’s record as cutting taxes, expanding jobs, ensuring public safety, and making the state one of the best states to live and work in,
Throughout the ad – which zooms from the Statehouse to a grocery store to an industrial park to a school – banners are featured that highlight New Jersey’s successes. One banner says, “Governor Phil Murphy cut taxes 20 times for working families and seniors”; another says that New Jersey is the “#1 safest state in America.”
With just under three weeks until the election, taxes and affordability are becoming increasingly hot political issues, with Republicans using them to attack Murphy and Democrats. Democrats have rebuked these arguments and are running on StayNJ — which provides a property tax credit for eligible seniors — as a significant legislative accomplishment.
Murphy is seen engaging with constituents at the end of the ad; no other candidates are featured.
Script: “Governor Murphy and his allies in the legislature have turned New Jersey’s economy around. They’ve cut taxes for working families and seniors 20 times, making New Jersey more affordable, and ignited our economy with new jobs and record growth. New Jersey is the most improved state in the nation to do business and the safest in the country. Thanks to Governor Murphy, New Jersey is one of the best states to live and work in. New Jersey: We’re just getting started.”
Stronger Fairer Forward is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit. It was formed following Murphy’s re-election in 2021 and is run by Dan Bryan, formerly Murphy’s senior advisor.
