Passaic Democrats want gubernatorial candidates to screen

Democratic gubernatorial candidates seeking the endorsement of the Passaic County Democratic organization are being invited to attend a screening committee meeting on Saturday morning, March 15.

The county chairman, John Currie, said the screening process – which includes party leaders and elected officials – allows candidates to “present their vision, qualifications, and policy priorities to municipal leaders from across Passaic County, ensuring support for a candidate who aligns with the committee’s values and has the strongest path to victory in November.”

Candidates must indicate an interest in screening in advance and may appear in person or virtually.  The deadline is March 7.

“This screening is an important step in the committee’s endorsement process as we seek to support a candidate who best represents the values and priorities of the Passaic County Democratic Committee,” the organization said in a statement.
