International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, District Council 711, has endorsed Gov. Phil Murphy for re-election.
“We know that he understands our working families issues,” said Vincent Lane, the IUPAT business manager and secretary-treasurer. “His support on the issues that face the labor community, such as infrastructure improvements and the implementation and enforcement of laws that safeguard against the underground economy in construction, has single handedly helped to build a stronger and more fair economy in New Jersey as was his word since he took office in 2018.”
The IUPAT endorsed Murphy in 2017 and Lane was among a group of labor leaders named to the governor’s transition team.
The union represents industrial and commercial painters, drywall finishers, wall coverers, glaziers, glass workers, floor covering installers, sign makers, display workers and convention and trade show decorators.
