Camden County Democrats will hold a high-dollar fundraiser for former Senate President Steve Sweeney’s campaign for governor, with Democratic powerhouse George E. Norcross III as one of the hosts.
The Sweeney luncheon reception will be held in Voorhees on Monday, June 10, four days after Camden Mayor Vic Carstarphen’s fundraiser for Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, another Democratic gubernatorial candidate.
The Camden County Democratic Committee is sponsoring the fundraiser, with Rep. Donald Norcross, attorney Philip Norcross, and State Sen. James Beach (D-Voorhees), the Camden County Democratic chair, also serving as hosts.
It’s not clear if Beach will be present; the Senate has a quorum call set for the same time as the Voorhees fundraiser.
Individual ticket prices for the fundraiser are $1,500 and $4,900.
As of the end of March, Sweeney had raised $1,136,772 since joining the governor’s race in December.
