In his latest broadcast and cable TV ad, Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Tenafly) maintains his messaging of affordability issues and fighting Donald Trump in his bid for the Democratic nomination for governor.

In “Right Fights,” Gottheimer pledges to take on utility companies, lower taxes, and protect Social Security and Medicare in a 30-second ad that is part of a new seven-figure buy.

Script: “While they’re fighting each other, Josh Gottheimer is fighting for you.  Against utility companies ripping you off.  Out of control taxes and sky-high rent. And Josh is focused on the real battle against Donald Trump and Jack Ciattarelli.   To protect Social Security, Medicare, and our schools.  A Jersey guy, a problem solver, a husband and dad.   Josh will work every day to make Jersey more affordable so that every family can get ahead.”

“While others waste time fighting each other, I’m focused on what really matters—fighting for Jersey families,” Gottheimer stated. “It used to be that Jersey was full of promise and opportunity, but too often the high costs and outrageous taxes are making it harder to realize that dream. I’m running for Governor to make Jersey more affordable—to lower taxes and costs and fight Trump—so kids, families, and seniors can build a future here in the greatest state in the country.”

A former Clinton White House speechwriter and Obama administration appointee, Gottheimer is serving his fifth term in the U.S. House of Representatives.

He faces Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop, Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-Montclair), New Jerey Education Association President and former Montclair Mayor Sean Spiller, and former Senate President Steve Sweeney in the June 10 primary.
