Gov. Phil Murphy again declined to comment on a lawsuit filed by Chris Neuwirth that alleges the former assistant commissioner of health was fired because he filed an ethics complaint against top administration officials.
“Don’t be mad at me for coming all the way over here to ask that question. I can’t comment on a lawsuit, so forgive me,” Murphy said Wednesday. “I can’t, and you’ll respect that, I hope.”
Neuwirth’s suit alleges the superintendent of the New Jersey State Police pressured him to collect COVID-19 specimens from the governor’s chief of staff.
