Gov. Phil Murphy has named Brianna Earle as his new deputy chief of staff for outreach, where she will serve as the top liaison between labor unions, advocacy groups, faith and community leaders, and the governor’s office.

Earle has been holding the post on an acting basis since 2022, when Deb Cornavaca departed to join the New Jersey Education Association.

“Brianna has been a key player and an instrumental asset to my Administration since day one,” Murphy said.  “Across the state and beyond, she has built meaningful relationships that have been consequential to the success of our Administration.  From collaborating with faith and community leaders to advocates and labor unions, Brianna has approached her position with empathy, compassion, and understanding. I look forward to her continued success as she works to advance affordability and opportunity for all New Jerseyans.”

She joined Murphy’s staff as director of public engagement in 2018 and served as operations director for the Democratic coordinated campaign in 2017.

Earle began her political career as a part-time organizer for SEIU 32BJ and as an intern for New Jersey Working Families.  She was the deputy Latino base vote director for the New Jersey Democratic State Committee in 2012 and worked on the communications staff of the Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters.  Earle was a senior associate at Kivvit, one of the state’s top public affairs firms, before joining the 2017 campaign.

“It is an honor to serve the Murphy Administration and the state of New Jersey, and I am thrilled by the opportunity to build on the incredible progress we have achieved since 2018,” Earle said.  “It is a privilege to work with the many communities that make up our great state, and it is essential they feel their voices are represented in government. I thank Governor Murphy for this opportunity and look forward to the work ahead.”
