Monmouth poll on Murphy approvals coming on Wednesday

By David Wildstein, May 04 2021 9:44 am

Monmouth University will release a poll on Gov. Phil Murphy’s job approval and re-election numbers on Wednesday afternoon, the first independent poll of the 2021 general election campaign.

The Monmouth poll will also include job approval ratings for U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker, and for President Joe Biden in New Jersey.

It’s not immediately clear if the poll includes a head-t0-heat general election matchup with Republican Jack Ciattarelli.  One individual who says they were called by the Monmouth Poll  told the New Jersey Globe that Ciattarelli’s name was not mentioned.

Additional polling will be released by Monmouth on Thursday regarding Murphy’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic and vaccines reluctance.

Under the supervision of Patrick Murray, the Monmouth poll has become the gold standard of public opinion surveys in New Jersey.
