A super PAC supporting Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff) is launching a seven-figure ad buy this morning as part of the final sprint in the 2025 Democratic primary for governor of New Jersey.

The ad, “Jersey Promise,” is paid for by Affordable New Jersey.  It calls him a “son of Jersey” and pushes Gottheimer’s campaign themes of affordability and fighting President Donald Trump.

Script: “Remember the promise of Jersey. Affordable. Safe. A great place to raise a family. Josh Gottheimer hasn’t forgotten. A son of Jersey, Josh Gottheimer is running for governor with a plan to make our state affordable again: stopping utilities from ripping us off, investing in schools and healthcare, and standing up to Donald Trump’s cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. A husband. A father. A problem solver. Josh Gottheimer: a governor who will make Jersey affordable.”

Gottheimer, a five-term congressman from Bergen County, is a former Clinton White House speechwriter and former Obama administration official.  He faces Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop, Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-Montclair), New Jersey Education Association President Sean Spiller, and former Senate President Steve Sweeney in the June 10 primary.
