A super PAC allied with Democratic gubernatorial candidate Steve Fulop now has $11 million cash-on-hand after raising over $1.5 million last night at a fundraiser in Jersey City.
“Coalition for Progress has been building to this moment over the last three years, and we could not be more thankful to our supporters for helping provide the resources necessary to support progressive candidates we all believe in so strongly,” said Drew Nussbaum, the Coalition for Progress PAC Chairman. “We’re excited to support candidates with a real track record of delivering progress for the middle class and standing up to the political establishment to get the job done, and we look forward to communicating that message.”
Nussbaum said Coalition for Progress is preparing to spend “significant resources” to back progressive candidates running in the June primary.
Fulop has pledged to spent $10 million to help down-ballot candidates he has recruited to run on his slogan.
The super PAC had announced in 2023 that four nationally prominent Democratic consulting firms had signed on . Among them is Red Horse Strategies, which helped direct Eric Adams’ campaign for mayor of New York City in 2021 and independent expenditures for Democratic candidates in more than 30 states, and Impact Research, the polling firm led by John Anzalone; Anzalone polled for Barack Obama and Joe Biden, and has extensive experience in New Jersey races.
Coalition for Progress’ consultant roster also includes Siegel Strategies, a media firm, and Precision Strategies, a digital media company that worked for Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign and statewide and congressional candidates across the U.S.
