Warren County Republicans tonight voted to endorse Jack Ciattarelli for the Republican nomination for governor, giving the presumptive nominee a clean sweep of county GOP organizations.
Ciattarelli won with 92%, with just four Republicans voting for one of the other candidates.
The Warren County Republican Chairman, Doug Steinhardt, had been a leading contender for the GOP gubernatorial nomination until he withdrew from the race on January 11.
The rest of the candidates, including County Commissioner James Kern and Republican legislators in the 23rd and 24th legislative districts, won by acclamation.
Ciattarelli faces Rev. Phil Rizzo, former Franklin mayor and Franklin mayor Brian D. Levine, and perennial candidate Hirsh Singh in the June 8 primary election. The winner will take on Gov. Phil Murphy.
