State Sen. Jon Bramnick (R-Westfield) says he expected to support Gov. Phil Murphy’s nomination of Matt Platkin as the attorney general if is name comes the Senate for a confirmation vote.
“I’m definitely supportive of him,” said Bramnick. “I worked with him as Assembly Republican leader. I thought he was smart. I thought he was professional.”
Bramnick, who won a Senate seat last November after spending nearly two decades in the lower house, is one of four Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
The New Jersey Globe first reported on Wednesday evening that Murphy will announce his pick of Platkin, his chief counsel for the first three years of his term, tomorrow morning.
