All five Monmouth County commissioners have endorsed Jack Ciattarelli for governor in next year’s Republican primary, giving him key support in the county with the second-highest number of registered Republicans in the state.

Support came from Tom Arnone, Ross Licitra, Erik Anderson, Nick DiRocco, and Sue Kiley.

“Here in Monmouth County, we know what it takes to deliver for our residents. We’ve done the work to keep our taxes low and our communities safe,” said Arnone, the director of the Board of County Commissioners.  “We’ve supported our law enforcement, fought back against out-of-touch Trenton mandates, cut the size of government when turning to the private sector was better for our residents, and protected our Jersey Shore.”

Monmouth has 163,141 Republicans, 10% of the total GOP electorate in New Jersey.  In 2021, Ciattarelli, running on the county organization line, carried Monmouth by a 44%-32% margin in a field of four candidates.  In the general election, he won Monmouth by more than eighteen percentage points against Gov. Phil Murphy.

“He’ll make our state more affordable by cutting property taxes in half with a new school funding formula, capping taxes on seniors, and slashing costs for working families and small businesses,” Arnone stated.  “Jack’s plans to overhaul our broken NJ Transit system and fight the overdevelopment of our suburbs will improve our quality of life, and Jack will work with President Trump to end New Jersey’s sanctuary policies once and for all.”
