Rob Zwigard, who came within four votes of winning election as the Morris County Republican chairman in June, is taking over as chairman of the Morris County Republican Victory PAC (MRVP).
He will replace former Roxbury mayor Tim Smith, who is moving to Florida.
This may be a better gig for Zwigard, since MRVP raises more money than the party organization run by the county chairman, Ron DeFilippis.
“I am pleased to take over this organization that has a 14 year history supporting Republican success in Morris County,” Zwigard said. “I would also like to thank Tim Smith for his leadership of the PAC as Chair in 2018”.
MRVP helps fund Republican candidates and offers in-kind grass roots support. This year, the PAC opened a campaign office in Morristown that made more than 20,000 phone calls and distributed hundreds of thousands of literature packets to help GOP candidates, according to the group’s press release.
“We are ready to work hard to bring resources to key Morris municipalities to help them spread the Republican message of efficient and effective government leadership,” said Zwigard. “We look forward to helping to increase economic success and quality of life of Morris County residents by promoting Republican principles.”
Good news. Unfortunately he’s not leading the MCRC which is in a complete mess.
