With election looming, Hamm has just $7,650.41 banked

U.S. Sen. Cory Booker’s progressive primary challenger has raised at least $66,062 in his bid to unseat the incumbent, according to reports filed with the Federal Election Commission.

Through June 17, Lawrence Hamm raised a total of $63,462.81, with $23,123.46 coming in between April 1 and June 17. He received a $2,600 donation from former Newark Mayor Sharpe James on June 18.

That contribution will bolster the candidate’s dwindling supply of cash, but not by much. Before James’s donation, Hamm had just $7,650.41 in his war chest.

Booker had nearly $1.9 million on hand at the end of March. His pre-primary report is not yet available online, but 48-hour reports filed on June 19 and 21 show the senator has brought in more money, $11,400, than Hamm has banked.
