Statements on the 117th Congress

By David Wildstein, January 03 2021 10:14 pm

“As part of my oath I just took, I swore to support and defend the Constitution — a heavy responsibility I endeavor to uphold every hour of every day. At its base, it’s about protecting our fundamental freedoms: from speech to religion, to safeguarding our democracy and the values we all hold dear.  I also swore to defend against all enemies, foreign and domestic, to protect our state and community, and to fight for the people I represent: from lowering health care costs, to keeping our air and water clean and fixing our roads and bridges, to reinstating SALT and lowering taxes, to standing by our veterans and seniors, to ensuring our communities are safe for our families and children, to securing COVID-19 relief for our residents, small businesses, and communities, and to fighting terror at home and abroad.”

“It’s an honor to represent the community where I was raised as its member of Congress.  The past two years have posed incredible challenges for our neighbors across Burlington and Ocean Counties. But even in the darkest times, I’ve seen New Jerseyans come together to find common purpose in lending a hand and making our country a better, safer place. In the next two years, I look forward to working with and for the people that make New Jersey the best place in America to live. I look forward to working to make it a better place to raise a family, a better place for our veterans and military families, and a better place for our small businesses. And I look forward to working with my colleagues from both parties to make that happen.”

“It’s an incredible honor to once again be sworn in and to continue my service to the 11th District.  I have high hopes for 2021 as we see the light at the end of the tunnel for COVID and ensure that people have a secure future in the aftermath of this horrible pandemic. I stand ready to work with my colleagues and the new administration to serve North Jersey and get us to the other side of this crisis.”

“As we enter 2021, Americans are facing a grave public health crisis and an economic crisis. Working families, small businesses, essential workers and our military servicemembers need and deserve relief, and I will continue fighting for an appropriate federal response.  It’s an honor to serve the people of South Jersey, and I’ll work to reverse the damage done over the last four years and help implement the Biden-Harris Administration’s vision to build back better by defeating the coronavirus and investing in our workforce.”

As our nation faces unprecedented challenges, I am honored that the people of New Jersey’s 8th District have elected me to fight for them in the 117th Congress.  This honor comes with a critical duty to work on behalf of my constituents and I remain committed to advocating the priorities of our communities and working to deliver the pandemic relief that is so desperately need. I welcome the opportunity to work with Speaker Pelosi and the incoming Biden-Harris Administration to advance policies that seek to move our health care, infrastructure, and economy forward, and heal the divisions that have become so apparent the last four years.”
