Rep. Albio Sires (D-West New York) has $208,497 cash-on-hand, according to his second quarter report filed with the Federal Election Commission.
Sires raised $32,086 during between May 17 and June 30 and has raised $244,052 so far this cycle. His campaign carries no debt.
The seven-term congressman and former Assembly Speaker faced no opposition in the Democratic primary and just token opposition in the general election for his safe 8th district House seat.
During the recent Hudson County warette, there has been speculation that Sires might face a primary challenge from Hudson County Freeholder Tilo Rivas, but that fizzled out. Sires played a key role in the election of Hudson County Democratic Chair Amy DeGise and is no longer viewed as politically vulnerable.
