Sherrill joins walk/prayer event for Christchurch, New Zealand

By David Wildstein, March 16 2019 1:47 pm

Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-Montclair) will join the Morris County Islamic Centers for a walk and prayer on Sunday for the victims of the terrorist attack at Christchurch in New Zealand.

The even will begin at 11:AM at the Jam-E-Masjid Islamic Center in Boonton.

“I’m heartbroken for the Muslim community and the city of Christchurch as America awakes to the news of horrific massacres in places of worship,” Sherrill said yesterday.  “Our diversity is our strength. These attacks, fueled by hatred and bigotry, fly in the face of our shared values.”
