The New Jersey State Police Benevolent Association has endorsed Republican Tom Kean, Jr. for Congress in New Jersey in New Jersey’s 7th district GOP primary.
PBA delegates voted to back Kean at a meeting this morning, the Kean campaign said.
The former minority leader of the New Jersey State Senate, Kean is one of seven Republicans running in the June 7 primary election for the chance to take on Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-Ringoes) in the fall.
The state’s largest police law enforcement union backed Kean against Malinowski in 2020.
“These are the men and women on the frontlines every day keeping our families and our towns safe,” Kean said. “We need to ensure that our police are fully-funded and that we in the community support their important mission. I am fully committed to leading on behalf of our police in Congress.”
The union will vote on general election endorsements this summer.
