Ian Godfrey, who started working for Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-Paterson) as an intern in 2016, has been named district director for the 13-term congressman.
He replaces Ritzy Moralez-Diaz, a veteran Pascrell staffer.
“Ian Godfrey has played an indispensable role in my office these past few years. Whether it be setting up community events, assisting constituents, coordinating with local leaders, or helping deliver federal grants, Ian has done it all,” Pascrell said. “I can think of no better person to lead our dedicated district office team as we continue to proudly serve our North Jersey communities.”
Pascrell said that Nancy Everett, who has handled constituent services and community relations in his New Jersey office for sixteen years, will serve as deputy district director.
“People stop me on the street to tell me how helpful Nancy has been in resolving their cases and delivering relief to their families,” he said.
Pascrell also praised Moralez-Diaz, who played a key role in a tough Democratic primary ten year ago after a new congressional map placed him in the same district as another incumbent, Rep. Steve Rothman (D-Englewood).
“Ritzy has dedicated a quarter-century to helping others. That level of commitment to one’s community is rare and noble,” said Pascrell. “I will miss Ritzy’s wise counsel and I will miss her presence. I wish Ritzy all the best in her future endeavors. On behalf of our nearly 750,000 constituents, I thank her for all she’s done for our office and our community. In her work Ritzy has proven that one person truly can make a positive difference for others.”
