Pallotta raises $30k in Q1 for GOP nod in NJ-5

Investment banker has loaned $310k to bid to unseat Gottheimer

Investment banker Frank Pallotta raised $29,795 during the first quarter of 2020 and has $296,493 cash-on-hand for his bid to unseat Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff) in New Jersey’s 5th district.

He has loaned $310,000 to his campaign, including $200,000 since the start of the year.  He has raised $230,694 on top of his personal contribution.

Pallotta faces former Cresskill Councilman John McCann and two others in the Republican primary.

McCann, who has the organization line in Bergen County, has $3,948 remaining in his campaign account after raising $36,168 during the first three months of 2020 and $162,721 total.

Pallotta has the organization line in Passaic County and the endorsement of Sussex County GOP Chairman Jerry Scanlon.

Another Republican candidate, teacher James Baldini, raised $3,693 in Q1 and $5,081 total.  His cash-on-hand is in the red: – $4,288.

Gottheimer raised $903,807 during the first three months of 2020 and has $7,877,744 cash-on-hand.  He’s raised $4,360,803 so far this cycle.
