Republican Frank Pallotta has raised $510,899 for his bid to challenge Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff) in New Jersey’s 5th district and has $382,483 cash-on-hand.
Pallotta raised $266,850 during the 4th quarter of 2019, according to reports filed with the Federal Election Commission.
An investment banker who worked for Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, Pallotta has loaned $290,000 to his campaign, nearly three-quarters of it in the last three months.
Gottheimer, the Human Fundraising Machine, has not yet reported his total 2019 fundraising haul.
Six other Republicans are seeking the nomination: Montvale mayor Michael Ghassali, former Cresskill councilman John McCann, former Bergen County Republican official Paul Duggan, teacher James Baldini, college student Jon Dalrymple, and perennial candidate Hector Castillo.
Gottheimer faces a Democratic primary challenge from Glen Rock councilwoman Arati Kreibich.
