Two days after he lost his second bid for Congress in New Jersey’s 5th district, Republican Frank Pallotta contacted Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff) and offered his conceded his second loss in two years.

“We talked about broadband service, Veteran services and the varied needs around the district,” Pallotta said.  “We also spoke about doing better as New Jerseyans and as Americans.”

Gottheimer leads Pallotta, 54%-45%.  Two years ago, Gottheimer beat Pallotta, 53%-46%.

“Our country is at a crossroads and the majority of the middle class are at risk. Inflation is eating away at paychecks and income, a deteriorating economy has bludgeoned retirement savings, and crime is challenging our safety and way of life,” Pallotta said.  “The focus must shift from government and self-interest to the people.  For it is the people we serve.”

Pallotta also used his concession statement to express his appreciation to the good people who worked on his campaign, and his wife “for her love, trust and support.”
