Michael Roth launches ‘Bring It Home Tour’ across 7th district

As the Democratic primary for New Jersey’s 7th congressional district heats up, one top contender, Michael Roth, is hitting the road.

Roth announced today that he’s launching his “Bring It Home Tour,” a tour intended to highlight high taxes and crumbling infrastructure across the 7th district. The summer-long tour, Roth said, will touch every part of the sprawling district, which spans from Staten Island to Pennsylvania.

“This isn’t just a listening tour – it’s an opportunity to organize, to talk policy, and to show residents what a campaign rooted in community and substance can be,” Roth said in a release. “We’re going to turn every pizza place into a town hall, every conversation into a connection, and every stop into a step toward delivering what our communities deserve.”

Roth’s first stop earlier today was in Lambertville, an artsy progressive hub along the Delaware River. Standing in the Outta Hand pizza shop, Roth accused the 7th district’s incumbent congressman, Rep. Tom Kean Jr. (R-Westfield), of failing to deliver for his constituents.

“Our representative is too busy playing political games while everyone else is bringing home the dough,” Roth said. “So come join me this summer as I go across this beautiful district, across all of its beautiful towns and cities, and show what we could fix if we just had a representative that knew how to bring it home.”

Roth is one of five serious Democratic candidates currently running to take on Kean in what’s likely to be a top target for Democrats next year; the 7th district has previously hosted four highly competitive elections in a row, and 2026 will likely mark #5.
