Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-Newark) announced four members of her senior staff earlier this week, including one veteran of New Jersey politics and three newcomers with experience working for members of Congress from other states.
Noelle Rosellini, a native of Pennsylvania and until recently a member of California Rep. Jimmy Gomez’s staff, will serve as McIver’s chief of staff. Rosellini has worked for a wide array of Democrats around the country, including the 2016 Hillary Clinton presidential campaign, the Democratic National Committee, and Washington Rep. Pramila Jayapal, until recently the chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
Back in the 10th district, a deep-blue seat based in Newark, Imani Hamm will be McIver’s district director. Hamm worked on McIver’s victorious campaign last year to succeed the late Rep. Donald Payne Jr. (D-Newark), and is an alum of Gov. Phil Murphy’s office.
McIver’s legislative director will be Layla Brooks, who has worked in a variety of capacities on Capitol Hill, most recently for Louisiana Rep. Troy Carter. And Taylor Deacon will be McIver’s communications director after prior press work in the offices of North Carolina Rep. Don Davis, California Rep. Julia Brownley, and Minnesota Rep. – and erstwhile presidential candidate – Dean Phillips.
“I am proud to welcome this group of talented and dedicated public servants to Team McIver,” McIver said in a statement. “They each bring a unique passion and skill set to our diverse team. I look forward to working together to create real change for the people at home in NJ-10.”
