An internal poll for Democratic Rep. Tom Malinowski’s re-election campaign in New Jersey’s 7th district has him tied with Republican Tom Kean, Jr. at 48%-48%.
The Greenberg Quinlan Rosner poll shows the generic ballot to be 50% Republican, 45% Democratic.
Malinowski’ approvals in the internal poll are at 44%-34%, while President Joe Biden is upside-own at 44%-54% in the 7th district.
The poll was conducted between September 26-20 with a sample size of 500 likely voters and has a margin of error of +/- 4.38%.
“Tom Kean Jr.’s strategy of silence isn’t working. He thought he could keep his head down, dodge the public, and the press, and ride a red wave to Congress,” said Brooke Zindulka, Malinowski’s campaign manager. “But Tom Malinowski is holding Kean Jr.’s feet to the fire and voters are taking notice. New Jerseyans don’t want a Member of Congress who will criminalize women’s health care and subvert our democracy. They want to see real results for our district and in their lives, and that’s why they are going to reelect Tom Malinowski.”
An RMG Research Poll on behalf of U.S. Term Limits released in August had Kean leading Malinowski by eight percentage points, 46%-38%.
